The Apartment (1960) – A Review

Movie-wise, there has never been anything like it – laugh-wise, love-wise, or otherwise-wise!

Legendary funnyman Jack Lemmon heads an all-star cast in this romantic comedy farce dreamed up by notable Hollywood icon Billy Wilder. Here Is The Basic Plot:

C.C. “Bud” Baxter is a minor clerk in a huge New York insurance company, until he discovers a quick way of climbing the corporate ladder. He lends out his New York apartment to the executives as a place to take their mistresses. Although he often has to deal with the aftermath of their visits, one night he’s left with a major problem to solve.

Creative writing and well-placed instances from I.A.L. Diamond place this movie in the top tier of Must See Jack Lemmon films. Add to that star packed support from the likes of Shirley Maclaine, Fred MacMurray and David Lewis this movie has it all action, comedy, romance and the water cooler humor of the workplace all rolled into one definitely Highly Recommended

My Rating: 4 Out Of 5 Stars
