Following his debut as a TV Commercial Pitchman, Jim Varney and John Cherry decided to conquer Hollywood. Ernest Goes To Camp marks the first in a long string of movies centered around Ernest P. Worrell, a lovable loser who works as a summer camp handyman and dreams of becoming a guidance counselor, and he must find a way to inspire a group of juvenile delinquents while at the same time stopping a shady strip mining company from closing the camp as well. I have always thought of the character as funny and the situations he gets himself into will make you howl with laughter. Do yourself a favor and watch this, it’s a great introduction to Ernest.
