Ask any Chathamite who defines Classic Cars and they will more than likely tell you Rob Myers, the namesake of RM Classic Cars who rose from humble beginnings to create one of the most iconic and respected companies in the world of collectible cars.
Starting his company from a 2 car Garage on Park Avenue West (Above), Myers grew and expanded rapidly with a flair for top quality service and treating his customers with the same respect that everyone deserves. He has courted the attention from many famous (and some not so famous) people including the likes of Kid Rock and Barry Weiss (aka The Collector). But what I like best about Rob Myers is he is a self made man who has become rich and famous but he has never forgotten where he came from, as one RM employee I spoke to yesterday said “He’s Hometown Proud”.
Rob Myers’ best quality comes in giving back to the community he has called home since he was born. He was responsible for overseeing the restoration of an enitre block of buildings in Downtown Chatham (The Historic King-William Block) which contains the city’s sole boutique hotel The Retro Suites. He also organizes and contributes to Retrofest, a classic car cruise and show every year since it’s inception in 2003. All in all I’d say Rob Myers has come full circle. Now in his 40th year of buisness, he shows no signs of slowing down.
